West Coast General Hospital (WCGH)
West Coast General Hospital was built in 2001 with a 52-bed capacity, 3 of which are in the Intensive Care Unit. The hospital provides 22 services including medical imaging, a medical laboratory, telehealth, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and an All Nations' Healing Room. Additional services for First Nations are available.
In 1990 the West Coast General Hospital Foundation was established, which has raised funds to support projects and new equipment such as a CT scanner and overhead power lifts and tracks. Volunteer opportunities available through the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
