Port Alberni is located on the traditional Territory of the Tseshaht [c̓išaaʔatḥ] First Nation and the Hupačasath First Nation. In addition, Port Alberni is the location of the offices for Uchucklesaht Tribe Government, Huu-ay-aht First Nation, the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council and the Métis Society of Alberni-Clayoquot.
